Philly Fife and Drum Company
There’s no more iconic sound of the American Revolution than the fife and drum and the Philly Fife and Drum Company brings that sound roaring back to life for America’s 250th anniversary.
One of only a handful of professional fife and drum corps in the United States, the Philly Fife and Drum Company has been performing for events since fall 2024 and they’re no strangers to Easton. Members of the corps have performed right here at Heritage Day before. Led by director Lois Bliss Herbine, this diverse group of musicians entertains and educates the public through Colonial Era music, with performances at venues including Independence Hall, the Museum of the American Revolution, the National Constitution Center, and Carpenters’ Hall.
Expect rousing period music performed in authentic style, the same martial rhythms that inspired soldiers to march, rallied communities to the cause, and set the beat for a revolution. It’s living history you can hear from across the square.
