Easton has deep roots in the Civil War, and the 153rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry reenactors are here to honor them. Raised right here in Northampton County, the original 153rd PA was a local regiment whose men left their homes, families, and livelihoods to serve the Union and this dedicated group of reenactors has made it their mission to make sure those men are never forgotten.

The 153rd PA Volunteer Infantry is a reenacting unit formed to honor the original regiment and educate the public on the life of the soldier and the role of the everyday citizen during the Civil War. Through reenactments, living history demonstrations, lectures, and school visits, they bring the humanity and sacrifice of the Civil War era to life with authenticity and respect.

At Heritage Day, expect to see period accurate uniforms, equipment, and encampment life up close and to hear the stories of the Northampton County men who marched off to war more than 160 years ago. Members are passionate about sharing their knowledge and are happy to talk history with visitors of all ages.

Are you a descendant of a soldier from the original 153rd? The unit would love to hear from you. Come find them at their camp and help keep the memory of your ancestor alive.
