The George Taylor Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has called Easton home for 130 years, and there’s no better place to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary than right here.

Their mission is to preserve, educate, and honor the patriots who contributed to the freedom and founding of our country. At this year’s Heritage Day, they’re celebrating the remarkable figures whose lives intersected with Easton’s own founding story, including our chapter’s namesake, George Taylor, who signed the Declaration of Independence, served the militia, and supplied the first munitions of the Continental Army. We also honor William Parsons, the father of Easton, whose legacy lives on in the community we gather in today.

The DAR George Taylor House Association owns and maintains the Parsons-Taylor House in downtown Easton, built in 1757 – a living landmark connecting us directly to both men. Come hear their stories told by members in period attire, and learn about the pivotal role this region played in the birth of the nation.

Interested in joining the DAR? Eligibility extends beyond military service — if your ancestor supported the cause in any way, such as providing food, supplies, or medical aid, you may qualify. Our members are happy to help you explore your lineage and get started.

Stop by, step into history, and celebrate the patriots who made Easton and America what it is today.
