Third New Jersey Regiment – The Jersey Blues
The Jersey Blues Living History Detachment is a modern reenactment group portraying members of the 1st Brigade, 50th Armored Division of the New Jersey National Guard. Focused on the Cold War and Desert Storm era, the unit brings recent military history to life through detailed displays and interactive field setups.
At events, they typically present a fully equipped 1980’s Desert Storm era encampment featuring a 10×10 command canopy, weapons rack with NJ legal training arms, radio communications equipment, and other period correct field gear. Their setup also often includes a military vehicle display, such as a M1009 Chevy Blazer and M101A3 trailer, used to demonstrate field mobility and logistics.
Through equipment demonstrations and informal interpretation, the group offers visitors a hands-on look at modern National Guard life, bridging the gap between historical interpretation and contemporary military service.
